Work with the CCE:

In addition to all the many service organizations and trips offered at Susquehanna, there are paid service positions available for outstanding volunteers at the Center for Civic Engagement.  Three “Service Scholar” positions are offered to help coordinate volunteer activities through the CCE and also service-learning programs in the Spanish and Psychology departments.  These positions are the Curricular Service Scholar, Extra-Curricular Service Scholar, and Spanish Service Scholar.  These positions are available by an application process when the current service scholar completes his/her required 700-900 hours of work.

In 2007 SU became part of the “Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania” (SISPA) Program, which allows student participants to receive a stipend of $1,000 or $1,250 for completing either 350 or 450 hours, respectively, of community service during one calendar year.  The CCE will have 4 SISPAs for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Finally, the CCE is always willing to take student interns who are interested in making an impact in their community by assisting with CCE events.
