Marr Named to DIII All-Academic Team

SELINSGROVE, Pa.– Susquehanna University graduate Mike Marr (Muncy, Pa./Warrior Run) was named to the 2008 Men's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Track & Field Team on July 14.

Marr finished ninth in the high jump at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May. He finished his Susquehanna career as the 36th All-American in the University's men's track & field history after finishing sixth in the high jump at NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2007. He is the only Crusader ever recognized as All-American in the high jump. He won the high jump at the 2008 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships while also finishing second in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump at the same meet. He also earned the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete Award in men's indoor track & field and an NCAA postgraduate scholarship.

A total of 158 student-athletes representing 70 colleges and universities made up the 2008 Men's Division III All-Academic team. Marr is one of only two men from a Landmark Conference school named to the team. The USTFCCCA honors NCAA Division III individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

To qualify for the All-Academic Track & Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor Track & Field automatic or provisional qualifying standard in his respective event.
