Amy Cohen, Head Coach

Amy Cohen enters her third season as the head coach of the Susquehanna University fieldhockey team in 2008.
Cohen, a native of Linwood, N.J., previously served as an NCAA Division I assistant coach at the University of Delaware for four seasons, helping the Blue Hens to the Colonial Athletic Association championship in 2004.
A 2002 graduate of Division I Lafayette College with a bachelor's degree in history, Cohen was a four-year starting goalkeeper for the Leopards from 1998 to 2001 and helped the team to the Patriot League championship in 1999 while earning second-team All-Mideast Region honors. She still ranks second all-time in program history with 541 saves and twice finished among the NCAA Division I leaders in goals against average.
Also during her time at Lafayette, Cohen was vice president of Lafayette's Sports Council for Athletics and was a three-time Patriot League Academic/Athletic Honor Roll selection.
She earned a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Delaware in 2005.
During the past eight years, Cohen has been a coach in the USA Field Hockey Futures program and has worked a number of summer camps, including the University of Delaware Blue Hen Elite Field Hockey Camp where she was in charge of curriculum for three years.
Allison Fordyce, Assistant Coach
Allison Fordyce will begin her first season as an assistant coach for the Susquehanna field hockey team in 2008 after serving as an assistant women's lacrosse coach for the Crusaders in the spring.
Fordyce comes to Susquehanna from the York College of Pennsylvania where she was the head field hockey coach in 2005. Leading the Spartans to a mark of 11-8, she had five players earn All-Capital Athletic Conference accolades.
In addition to coaching field hockey at York, she also served as the head women's lacrosse coach for the Spartans. Women's lacrosse was introduced at York during the 2005-06 academic year, and Fordyce compiled a two-year record of 13-21 while coaching two all-conference players.
Prior to coaching at York, Fordyce served as a field hockey coach, lacrosse coach, coordinator for athletics and wellness and adjunct physical education instructor at Harford Community College over a six-year span – 1998 to 2004.
Fordyce has also coached field hockey at the College of Notre Dame and spent three years as a personal trainer and fitness instructor at the Bel Air Athletic Club in Maryland.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Towson University in 1998, and in 2005, she received her master's degree in education from McDaniel College.
Jess Weiss, Assistant Coach
Jess Weiss '08 joins the Crusaders coaching staff in 2008 fresh off a successful Susquehanna athletic career as a women's lacrosse and field hockey player.
Weiss was a three-year letterwinner for SU women's lacrosse and earned four letters as a member of the field hockey team. Weiss was honored with inclusion on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad in 2004, and in 2006, she was a Middle Atlantic Conference all-academic team member.
Weiss graduated from Susquehanna with a bachelor's degree in business administration in May 2008. |
