SU Men's Lacrosse Shows Support for U.S. Troops
SELINSGROVE, Pa. — The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team is collecting donations in support of U.S. military troops throughout Susquehanna's 2008 Homecoming week, including at a booth set up around gameday festivities of the Susquehanna–United States Merchant Marine Academy football game at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field at Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.
Donations made during the week should be delivered or mailed to Coach Stewart Moan, James W. Garrett Sports Complex, Office 138, 514 University Avenue, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
Suggested donations are travel-size toiletries, snacks, towels, thank-you notes, recently published magazines or anything else that would be suitable for thanking and welcoming home men and women of the military. Financial contributions will also be accepted, as the money will be used to buy items like the ones mentioned above. Checks can be written payable to Alpha Troop A/1-75 FRG.
Through the America Supporting Americans organization, Crusaders men's lacrosse is an official supporter of the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division Alpha Troop based out of Fort Campbell, Tenn. The troop is currently deployed in Baghdad, Iraq, with a substantial group of its soldiers expected back in the U.S. in December.
