MADISON, N.J. — Five out of the nine Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week announced on Sept. 29 represent Susquehanna University.

Junior Paul Thistle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) was the Landmark's men's cross country Athlete of the Week. Thistle (left) placed eighth out of 205 runners in the 8,000-meter race at Williams College's Purple Valley Classic on Sept. 27 to help Susquehanna to ninth place out of 18 teams. He posted a time of 26 minutes, 41 seconds in a field that included an NCAA Division I team and three nationally ranked Division III squads.

Sophomore Alycia Woodruff (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was the women's cross country Athlete of the Week. Woodruff (right) placed 11th out of 109 runners in the 6,000-meter race at Williams to help Susquehanna to seventh place out of 18 teams. She posted a time of 24:17 in a field that included NCAA Division I runners and four nationally ranked Division III squads. That time is the best 6,000-meter mark in the conference this season.

Freshman back Laurel Monaghan (East Fallowfield, Pa./Coatestville Area) was the field hockey Offensive Player of the Week after helping SU to a 2–0 week. In a 4–3 overtime win against Washington & Jefferson College on Sept. 24, Monaghan (left) scored one goal and assisted on another. She then assisted on the only goal of the game as the Crusaders defeated The University of Scranton, 1–0, in a Landmark game on Sept. 27.

Sophomore back Julia Amendola (Mountain Top, Pa./Bishop Hoban) was the field hockey Defensive Player of the Week. From her backfield position, Amendola (right) scored one goal and assisted on two others, including the game-winner, in the Washington & Jefferson game. Her defensive save on the goal line against Scranton allowed the Crusaders to earn the conference win.

Sophomore midfielder Jim Robertiello (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) was the Landmark's men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals and assisting on two others in a 2–0 week for SU. In a 2–1 win over Lebanon Valley College on Sept. 24, Robertiello (left) scored once and assisted on the game-winning goal.
