"Fantastic Fall" Continues for 2008 Susquehanna Sports;
SU Headed to NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championships
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Nov. 10 — The Susquehanna University men's soccer team has been selected as one of 58 teams nationwide to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division III men's soccer championships.
Susquehanna (13–6–1 overall) will play at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. If SU wins, it will play the winner of Carnegie Mellon University and Calvin College the next day at 6 p.m., also at Ohio Wesleyan.
Admission to either of Susquehanna's games is $6 for general admission, $3 for seniors and students and $2 for children aged 3 to 12 years old. Children under the age of 3 will be admitted free of charge. Ohio Wesleyan is also offering a free live video stream,
and a campus viewing party will be held in the Apple Community Room of Susquehanna's James W. Garrett Sports Complex.
SU was one of three teams chosen from Pool B of the selection process. Pool B
consists of independent institutions and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements to have their champions automatically qualify.
Susquehanna won the 2008 Landmark Conference men's soccer championship with a 1–0 win over The Catholic University of America on Nov. 8. The Landmark champion will not automatically qualify for the NCAA championships until the 2009–10 academic year.
