Stage Is Set for "Big Wednesday"; Three SU Squads to Host
Landmark Conference Playoffs Contests

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Susquehanna University will be the site of three Landmark Conference playoffs contests on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Admission to each event is $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and all non-Landmark students. Children under the age of 10 and all students from Landmark institutions (with ID) will be admitted free of charge.

The Susquehanna field hockey team starts the day off by hosting Juniata College in a Landmark championships semifinal at Sassafras Fields at 4 p.m. Susquehanna holds the No. 2 seed in the tournament, while Juniata is seeded third. No. 1 seed The Catholic University of America hosts No. 4 The University of Scranton at 3 p.m. The winners will play each other for the conference championship on Saturday, Nov. 8, at a time to be determined. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game.

The Susquehanna men's soccer and women's volleyball teams both play at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Men's soccer hosts Scranton at Sassafras Fields in another conference semifinal. Susquehanna is the No. 2 seed, while Scranton is seeded third. No. 1 seed Drew University hosts No. 4 Catholic at 7 p.m. as well. The winners will play each other for the conference championship on Saturday at a time to be determined. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game.

Women's volleyball hosts Goucher College at 7 p.m. at the Orlando W. Houts Gymnasium in a conference quarterfinal. Susquehanna is the No. 3 seed, while Goucher is seeded sixth. If SU wins, it will play No. 2 seed Scranton at No. 1 seed Juniata on Saturday in a conference semifinal at 1:30 p.m. Both Scranton and Juniata received first-round byes. No. 4 Moravian hosts No. 5 Catholic at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The lowest remaining seed plays Juniata on Saturday at 11 a.m. in another semifinal. The two semifinals winners will play each other in the championship match on Saturday at Juniata at 7 p.m.
