SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University football fans will once again be able to follow the Crusaders this season with live play-by-play broadcasts on WQSU-FM (88.9), Susquehanna’s 12,000-watt student radio station.

WQSU will broadcast the entire 10-game Susquehanna football schedule, both home and away, beginning with the season opener on Saturday, September 6 against Ursinus. Coverage will begin each week 30 minutes before kickoff with The Coach’s Corner, which features a 20-minute review and preview of each Crusader game with Susquehanna head football coach Steve Briggs. Live coverage from the game site will begin immediately following The Coach’s Corner.

Veteran area sports broadcaster/journalist and longtime Crusader play-by-play man Jack Burns of Mifflinburg will call the action with junior Jon Fogg of Salem, NJ providing color commentary and junior Justin Kircher of Selinsgrove reporting from the sidelines.

WQSU received an honorable mention award from the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters' Association (PAPBA) in the small market category for its play-by-play coverage of Susquehanna University football last fall. The student-run volunteer broadcasts were recognized during the PAPBA Awards Banquet at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey in Grantville on April 26.
