Bailor Named Field Hockey Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University senior attack Leah Bailor has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in field hockey for the week ending September 22, the conference announced Monday.

Bailor (Sunbury, PA/Middleburg H.S.) scored two goals and dished out two assists as the Crusaders won three games last week, including victories over nationally-ranked St. Lawrence and William Smith. In the process, she became Susquehanna’s career leader in points with 98 with an assist on the Crusaders’ second goal in Saturday’s 3-1 win over St. Lawrence, breaking the mark of 97 set by Cheryl Irvine from 1991 to 1994.

Bailor, who scored two goals and added an assist in Susquehanna’s 3-0 win over King’s on Wednesday, leads the Crusaders with 17 points on six goals and five assists. For her career, Bailor has scored 35 goals and handed out a school-record 28 assists.

The Crusaders (6-1 overall) carry a six-game winning streak into Thursday’s home game against Notre Dame (Md.) beginning at 4:30 p.m.
