Tech Crew Lead - Technology Enhanced Services

The Crew Lead, within the Technology Enhanced Services team, is responsible for campus-wide evening and weekend technical support for all technology enhanced spaces. This is a 12 month, non-benefit eligible, part-time position, requiring an average of 18 hours per week with regular evening and weekend hours while maintaining a flexible schedule based on needs. The crew lead reports directly to the manager of technology enhanced services and works closely with other members of the Office of Information Technology.

Specific responsibilities include providing performance and entertainment venue technical services, including audio, video, lighting and rigging support; assisting in the design, installation, renovation and maintenance for technology enhanced spaces; and hands-on supervision of live event production. Other duties include overseeing the team’s operations for evening and weekend coverage, including management of student staff; supporting video conferencing, digital signage, TVs and display systems, as well as satellite and channel injection systems; operating the Center for Advanced Technology’s evening services, including urgent helpdesk support, technology circulation, and set/strike and inventory control; and servicing as an on-site supervisor for events in Trax, the student social space, at least once a month.

The successful candidates will be proficient in the use of PCs, classroom technology, stage lighting, and audio and video projection systems. The position requires heavy reliance on Microsoft Office applications, plus the ability to quickly learn additional software as needed. Physical mobility, as well as sight and auditory acuity, is required.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field or an associate’s degree in electronics is preferred with a minimum of one year experience in theater or related work. Other essential skills include experience in the practical application in theater technology, demonstrated organizational and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, technical proficiency with sound, video and lighting equipment and familiarity with a university setting.
