How to Apply for Financial Aid

Apfelbaum Hall

For Susquehanna's non-need scholarships, no specific application is required. Each candidate's admissions credentials are reviewed automatically for scholarship eligibility. To be considered for a music scholarship, however, you need to audition with the music faculty. For information about auditions, please call the Office of Admissions at 800-326-9672.

To apply for need-based financial aid, follow this checklist:

  1. Obtain aid application materials from Susquehanna or from your high school guidance office. They are usually available in mid-November of your senior year.
  2. Complete the College Scholarship Service (CSS) PROFILE form on-line by clicking here. [You will be charged $25.00 for the first school you list and $16 for each additional school. You can pay the fee by credit card, debit card or online check.] Susquehanna's CSS school code is 2820. (You may do this as early as October 1. We recommend that you complete your application no later than March 1.)
  3. Before filing your FAFSA online, click here to obtain a federal PIN. The student and parent each must have his/her own unique PIN which will serve as an electronic signature.
  4. Complete the FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA) on-line as soon as possible after January 1. (All colleges and universities will require this form.) Susquehanna's school code is 003369. This should be submitted to the processor no later than March 1. (It will take several weeks for the results of your completed application to reach us.) For information online and to complete the application form, click here.
  5. Send directly to Susquehanna's Financial Aid Office:
    • a signed copy of your parents' 2007 federal income tax return
    • a signed copy of your 2007 federal income tax return
    • copies of all 2007 W-2 earnings statements, 1099 income statements, and all schedules filed with the tax returns for you and your parents
  6. If your family owns a business or a farm, Susquehanna requires an additional form which will be available to download, print and complete when you submit your online PROFILE form. This completed Business/Farm Supplement should also be sent directly to Susquehanna's Financial Aid Office.
