Kids' Summer Camps
The Susquehanna Kids’ College Summer Camp experiences challenge campers to think critically, work collaboratively, and solve problems creatively through their involvement in a variety of dynamic, hands-on activities that encourage communication and cooperation in a nurturing, engaging educational environment.
Offerings include our Primary Kids’ Summer Camp—a self-contained camp for students who have just completed 2nd grade, as well as the Intermediate Kids’ Summer Camp offered to those students who have just completed grades 3, 4, and 5.
In 2010, students will again have the option to participate in these morning camp experiences during the week of July 19 - 23 from 8:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
Given the desire to provide a quality experience as well as the interactive nature of camp offerings, each grade-level group is limited to 15 campers with a total of 60 available slots.
Afternoon sessions will also be available during camp week for those who would like to stay for lunch and/or participate in one of our afternoon Special Interest Topics.
Special Interest Topics will be available for students who have completed grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 and will be held from 1:30–3 p.m. Each Special Topic session will also be limited to 15 students.

Everyone loves to build and this hands-on, interactive workshop gives participants the opportunity to do just that. From the ordinary to the unusual, campers will investigate a wide range of both natural and man-made structural designs. Beehives, bridges, skyscrapers and tree houses are just a few of the spaces and places to be explored. Campers then put their architectural understandings to work as they experience paper engineering and straw construction activities as well as many additional learning choices for guided exploration. This workshop includes a little bit of math, science, and history with a creative twist and all disguised as fun. So put your construction hats on and get the job done!

Encore!
Susan Groce, Instructor
Back by popular demand, this interactive workshop will give campers the opportunity to explore the world around them and stretch their potential through creative dramatics. A new range of experiences with theatre games and improvisational techniques will allow campers to step outside themselves and hopefully, find something that they never knew existed. While similar to last year’s workshop, activities will be varied in a way that will appropriately challenge this year’s campers and still allow those camper’s from last year to continue to grow in their talents. So get into character and get ready for another exciting, new adventure with drama!
