Connect by Hertz Program
Susquehanna University students, faculty and staff have access to high MPG “green” vehicles to get around town—or beyond. Susquehanna makes a Toyota Prius and MINI Cooper available for rent through the Connect by Hertz program.
Known for their safe, fun and gas-sipping drive, the Prius and MINI Cooper make it possible for students to take day trips, weekend excursions or more to destinations near and not-so-near. The Hertz cars are available to all qualified student, faculty and staff drivers who are at least 18 years old.
With Connect by Hertz, Susquehanna students have the opportunity to easily access New York City, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Baltimore. Or they could just take an impromptu road trip to visit friends at nearby universities.
Through this unique and economical program, students, faculty and staff who want to drive the eco-friendly cars pay a one-time application fee of $25. They then choose from three usage plans with membership fees ranging from $50 annually to $125 monthly. Monthly plan fees can be applied to hourly or daily usage charges corresponding to how long the car is rented, all tracked by a Hertz “Smart Card.”
All plans include:
- free gas
- insurance
- GPS navigation
- a sound system featuring an iPod adaptor and Bluetooth technology
- 24-hour roadside assistance
- access to a Member Care Center
To introduce the new program the the university community, the application fee and the membership fee for the basic usage plan will be waived until March 1.
