Three SU Student-Athletes Honored as
Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week

MADISON, N.J. — Three Susquehanna University student-athletes were honored as Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week on Sept. 1.

Junior Paul Thistle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) was the Landmark's men's cross country Athlete of the Week after finishing in second place out of 71 runners from all three NCAA divisions at Bucknell University's Bison Open on Aug. 29. Thistle (left) covered the four-mile course in a time of 19 minutes, 58.1 seconds (4:59 per mile) to help Susquehanna finish third out of four teams at the meet. He finished just six seconds behind the winning runner from Division I Bucknell.

Sophomore Alycia Woodruff (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was the women's cross country Athlete of the Week after finishing in 11th place out of 67 runners  from all three NCAA divisions at the Bison Open. Woodruff (right) posted a time of 18:05.19 on the three-mile course to help the Crusaders finish third out of four teams.

Sophomore outside hitter Lindsey Jankiewicz (Easton, Pa./Freedom) was the women's volleyball Player of the Week after being honored with inclusion on the Haverford Invitational all–tournament team. Jankiewicz (left) helped the Crusaders a 3–1 weekend at Haverford College by piling up 55 kills, 10 digs, eight blocks and seven service aces over four matches at the invite.

The Crusaders fell to St. Mary's College of Maryland before topping the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Cabrini College and Gallaudet University. Against Cabrini alone, Jankiewicz posted game-high totals of 25 kills and five service aces.
