Three Named All-Conference in Field Hockey
SELINSGROVE, PA – Three Susquehanna University field hockey have been named All-Commonwealth Conference in voting by the league's eight head coaches, the conference office has announced.
Senior defender Shelley Reppert repeated as a first-team selection and was joined on the squad by senior midfielder Caitlin Meara, while senior midfielder Jen Scullin was a second-team selection.
The trio served as the squad's captains during the 2005 season.
The Crusaders finished 10-9 overall and in second place in the Commonwealth Conference with a 5-2 record under third-year head coach Amy Zimmerman.
Reppert (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg) was named first-team All-Conference for the second straight year after leading a Crusader defense that recorded a 1.25 goals against average and six shutouts during the season. She also scored a pair of goals and made a team-high three defensive saves.
For her career, Reppert recorded two goals and two assists for six points in 73 games while making seven defensive saves.
Meara (Wilmington, DE/Concord) was voted to the first team after being a second-team All-Conference choice in each of the past two seasons. She scored two goals and dished out a team-high five assists for nine points in 19 games.
Meara, who started all 74 games of her career without missing a contest, finished with 11 goals and 20 assists for 42 career points.
Scullin (Holland, PA/Council Rock) is a first-time All-Conference selection after playing in 14 games (12 starts) and scoring one goal on a penalty stroke against Messiah on Oct. 25. For her career, Scullin finished with three goals and five assists for 11 points in 44 games.
