Stickler Named Academic All-District in Men's Soccer
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University senior defender Jason Stickler been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District II College Division Men's Soccer team, as voted upon by members of CoSIDA and released Thursday. Stickler (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) was a second-team selection with a 3.79 cumulative grade-point average as a finance major. To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a starter with a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Stickler battled injuries during the 2004 season and appeared in just eight of the Crusaders' 18 games. The team went 7-0-1 when he was in the lineup, including four shutout victories, and recorded a goals-against average of 0.85. Off the field, Stickler is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta (freshman), Sigma Tau Delta (English) and Pi Gamma Mu (social studies) honor societies, is a member of the Pre-Law Society, served as a student advisor to the Sigmund Weis School of Business and conducted campus tours for the admissions office among other activities. The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
