Gallery Mission Statement

The Mission of the Lore Degenstein Gallery at Susquehanna University is to exhibit, interpret, collect, and preserve objects of art and material culture through a rich and diverse exhibition program of inquiry supporting academic investigations and contributing to the cultural life of Central Pennsylvania.

While adhering to professional standards of museum ethics, the Gallery provides the environment required for preserving and displaying art from both the university's permanent collection and loans from other institutions and private collections.

The Gallery program supports cultural life in the campus community and the community at large, particularly that of Central Pennsylvania. Moreover, it participates in the educational and research programs of other institutions with which it establishes mutually supportive relationships through the exchange of scholarly inquiry and the development of cooperative projects.
